Losing or having your phone stolen can be devastating. There are the obvious ramifications that affect your wallet, but there are plenty of other things to worry about. Your passwords, photos and credit card information can easily fall into the wrong hands. If your phone is missing, there are some important things you should do once you realize it’s gone. If you ever lose your phone, take some of these steps to be better prepared.
Find your lost phone using Google and Google’s services.
To locate a missing Android phone, use Google’s Find My Device to search for it. For this program to be successful, you must meet several conditions:
- With your Google account, your smartphone is connected to the Internet.
- To locate your device, you’ll enable Find My Device to locate it (it’s enabled by default).
- To change this option, first go to the Google Settings app and make adjustments.
- The Find My Device app uses GPS to locate your phone and erases existing information permanently (this option is disabled by default).
Find My Smartphone is a simple and straightforward method to locate your missing Android device and does not require the use of any third-party app. As long as your phone is connected to your Google Account, turned on, and has Internet access, you’re good to go.
When using your Google sign-in, you can access the Find My Device page. After you visit a web page, the site will try to detect your phone. Note that if you have multiple smartphones, you need to select the correct Android device.
You can easily track your registered Android smartphone by viewing the search results and searching for an updated tracking tool. To find your phone, ask “Where’s my phone?” Enter the In the Google search bar, Google will display a map indicating your location. A button to call after Google detects your phone. While this reduces the time it takes to locate your phone, it doesn’t provide access to all features of Find My Device’s complete UI.
If you set up Find My Device on your phone, you can find it, ring it, and erase all your personal data to prevent your personal information from being compromised. Apart from these capabilities there is no method to remotely access your device.
If you lose your phone, you can find it if you borrow someone else’s phone. In addition to tracking your phone’s browser, even if the Find My Device app is used, you can log in using the app using guest mode that uses your Google account. Finding your phone, ringing, erasing data, etc. is easy when you turn on your phone. To track your phone, you need to wait until it is enabled on your phone.
